Christian Education

Our adult Sunday School class, “Seekers of the Word,” gathers for one hour every Sunday morning at 9:00AM in the Pastor’s office.  Through study and discussion, participants enrich their understanding of our own faith traditions, of New and Old Testament books, and of contemporary literature focusing on faith.  There are no training prerequisites, just an open curiosity and willingness to share. Coffee is served.

The Church Book Club meets the first Wednesday morning of each month.  Book selections cover a wide variety of topics and genres, are available in paperback in the Church Library, and are generally chosen by the group with guidance from the facilitators,  well in advance of the meetings.

NPC Book Club

For several years, the first Wednesday of each month has found room 211 filled with lively discussion, friendly conversation, and good fellowship.  That is when the NPC Book Club meets, and the group is open to all who would like to participate.  We learn about the author’s background, professional reviews of the selection, and each other’s reactions to it. Our selections cover a wide variety of topics and genres. We don’t meet in the summer, so this is the schedule up till then:

  • April 4 at 10:00  – The Blind Contessa’s New Machine by Carey Wallace
  • May 2  at 9:30 – Blue Shoes and Happiness by Alexander McCall Smith (This is part of the #1 Ladies Detective Agency series and we will begin with a viewing of the HBO movie based on it.)
  • June 13 at 10:00 – The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit by Lucette Lagnado

We welcome all readers and the books are available at local libraries, including our own Church Library.                                 Jean Torongo        Bettilyn Bogia
